Bali is an Indonesian island that lies south of the equator between the islands of Java and Lombok. Surprisingly, it is home to more than three million people with most people living in coastal region.

Flying time to Bali is:

  • 5 and 45mins from Melbourne
  • 6hrs and 20mins from Sydney
  • 4hrs from Perth
  • 2hrs and 40mins from Singapore
  • 2hrs and 45 mins from Jakarta
  • 4hrs and 30mins from Hong Kong

GEOGRAPHY
Bali is a small island, measuring 90km along the north-south axis and less than about 140km East to West. Due to its compact size, visitors to this tropical island can explore many of its regions during day trips from Kedis Bali Villa. During your stay with us we invite you to talk to our staff about available tours.

The Bali tropical landscape is extremely beautiful and much of the geography was formed by ancient volcanoes resulting in lush, tropical forests, volcanic craters and crater lakes, fast flowing rivers and deep revines.

Agriculture is a way life for many Balinese and in your travels across this tropical island you will see picturesque rice terraces and many fruit and vegetable gardens.

BEACHES
Tourists flock to Bali’s many beautiful beaches with Kuta Beach – only a short walk from the luxury accommodation at Kedis Bali Villa – the most famous and beautiful of them all.

Kuta Beach is a long, white sandy beach, famous for its spectacular sunrise and sunsets. Every day you will see people making the most of their tropical holiday by swimming, bodyboarding, surfing or relaxing on Kuta Beach.

FLORA
Bali is a tropical island and the variety of tropical plants is surprising. Bali has more than a dozen species of coconut palms and in the villages you will see huge banyan trees, tamarind trees in the North, clove trees in the highlands, acacia trees, flame trees, and mangroves in the South.

While relaxing on this beautiful island, you can't help but notice the sweet smell of flowers in the air. Flowers are everywhere in Bali with hibiscus, bougainvillea, jasmine, water lilies, magnolia, frangipani and a variety of orchids found in many front yards and gardens, along roads, and in temple grounds.

CLIMATE
Bali day temperatures range between 20 to 33.C all year round, with an average of about 28.C - which is one of the reasons visitors continue to flock to this magical place.

From December to March, the wet season can bring heavy showers and high humidity, but the days are usually sunny and the rains start during the night and pass quickly.

Humidity is low from June to September with the evenings quite cool. During this time of the year it rarely rains along coastal areas.
